In contemporary development agenda, gender responsive budgeting has emerged an effective tool to address gender gaps, if it is applied properly. There are some countries that have implemented the GRB tool in all their sectors/ministries/departments, as well as some countries have given it a try in a few selected ministries/departments/sectors – e.f. education or women affairs– to see the results. How is the situation/level in terms of implementation and the results – if any - of GRB in your country? You can provide your general opinion as well. Any relevant reference will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time in answering this question. Information provided will be very important for me.

Hungary must be at such a high level of gender emancipation that I have not even heard or read on the gender responsive budgeting. I think this is an important issue in EU because some years ago I have translated an official EU text.

Gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) entails identifying and reflecting needed interventions to address gender gaps in sector and local government policies, plans and budgets. GRB also aims to analyze the gender-differentiated impact of revenue-raising policies and the allocation of domestic resources and Official Development Assistance.

I really do not know about Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB)! Trying to get some info I found a lot. Some are the following:
Our annual law on national budget (General Appropriations Act) mandates all government agencies to allocate 5 percent of their approved budget for gender responsive projects and activities.

There is growing recognition of the fact that public expenditures and tax policies as defined in the budget have separate implications for and impacts women and men. Pahlaj, As far as our university is concerned, many gender-sensitive and responsive researches, extension projects and curricular revisions were made.

IT is not possible to get exact information of the level of implementation and effects of Gender Responsive Budgeting in Bosnia and Hercegovina.
The Gender Action Plan (GAP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), as the 5-year strategy for gender mainstreaming in BiH. The main goal of the BiH GAP is “to define strategies and realise program objectives to reach equality of women and men in Bosnia and Herzegovina” with the following joint strategic goals in all fields of work defined in the GAP document.
GAP of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Chapter “Long life learning” starts with the view that a new vision of education explicitly exclude gender and other forms of discrimination and promote equal rights, opportunities and chances for girls and boys, women and men as participants in educational planning and programming, and production of new models of knowledge and education.
The analysis shows that the stereotyped representation of gender roles is present in textbooks and in teaching practice.
By analyzing the available data in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is evident that a greater number of girls complete higher education than boys, but it comes to "reverse pyramid" in the academic career: a greater number of women graduate, there is relatively balanced number of men and women at the level of assistant positions, but then decreasing number of women at higher positions.
