What is the suitable length for a 0° Glass/Epoxy cubic specimen to be tested using compression Hopkinson bar with bars of 20 mm?. We aim to minimize axial and radial inertia, to maintain strain rate constant and ensure stress equilibrium in specimens during tests.

Thank you Reddy . Is there a creterion to get this length of 13mm?. I tested composite specimens with 13 mm of length both in plane and out of plane but I found that the hypothesis of stress equilibrium is not always satisfied for all lay-ups especially in case of damage.
