I have come across screen printing and flexible thin film PCB. in search of Cu alloys or Al alloys and their thickness that makes it flawless over bending tests.
There is no "ideal" thickness. It depends on the bending radius the future device must sustain as well as on the substrate properties, e.g. whether it is an elastomer (Youngs modulus of about 10 MPa) or a stiffer polymer like PET (modulus is about 4 GPa).
There is a general rule though: the thinner the substrate the more flexible is the device.
