Hi! I am Katrina Co from the Philippines! I am just a High School student, I have only a limited samples for testing and a low budget (maybe around 6000 pesos or around $120). I only have limited samples for extracting polysaccharides and later on, I will test it for anti-tumor activity. What is the best possible procedure for this? I accept recommendation and research related topics. I am having diffuculty in advanced research because I am just a highschool student finding simple terms and a very simple explanation that everyone can understand. Thank you so much.

Some water soluble polysaccharides can be precipitated from water by the addition of ethanol.
Dear Olechno, thank you for your answer and I am having difficulty finding the perfect procedure extracting polysaccharides and applying it in antitumor activity with a low price. Specifically extracting Lentinan in shiitake mushrooms. I have only few samples so I need a very effective procedure for extracting and applying in anti-tumor activity. I will apply it in vitro. How familiar are you with the scientific literature? I have attached three papers for you. Lentinan is water soluble. It is precipitated from an aqueous solution by the addition of ethanol. But it might be easier to purchase (semi) purified lentinan from Carbosynth (https://www.carbosynth.com/carbosynth/website.nsf/(w-productdisplay)/49CE6C79DFEA2F0F80257BCA0012F3D3). The paper Lentinan3 isolated less than half a gram of lentinan after multiple days of work. Five grams from Carbosynth will cost $50.
