Progress in photovoltaics also regularly publishes tables of record efficiencies and there is normally a reference relating to the record device. In order to get into these tables results need to be independently measured at a recognised centre and have minimum area of 1cm2. So higher efficiencies may have been obtained on smaller devices, or without independent certification.
