I've been working in the Library Department for the past six years, and I've noticed that only about 10% of students visit the library. I'm wondering if there is anywhere, for example, a set of data that can help me understand how we can increase the number of users for academic libraries.

For you to increase the number of users in the academic library,it is important to conduct an information literacy program which will adequately inform your potential users about your library and its services.
The Information literacy program will influence the individuals to recognize their information needs and also have the ability to locate and use the information effectively to address their needs.
Increation entails something that is existing without being created
Users' patronage of academic libraries have been low according to researches conducted. One begin to wonder if their reasons are as a result of outdated materials, lack of reading space/reading carrels, lack of internet facilities, poor power supply, among others.
I think for academic libraries to increase and sustain it's users, their should be advocacy/advertisement via CAS, SDI, acquisition of relevant/
current text, robust internet etc.
Sanjay Kumar, we need to understand the distribution of students arear of interest and induce they required referral books and periodicals and other CAS facilities. Extending operating time of library as per students needs, increasing funds for proactive procurements of publication matching students needs

In my opinion, one of the important ways to increase visitation is:
Modern and up-to-date library design
Currently, the first and most important thing for libraries to do is to innovate with a more modern library design, accompanied by modern facilities as well.
Because visitors' first impressions are often determined by the comfort they feel when they first visit and while in the library. If they feel comfortable they will come back and will even invite their friends to come to the library to study together there. Conversely, if they are uncomfortable they will never come back and will even inform them that the library is not worthy of being a place to study.
Therefore, the interior design of the library should be made as pleasant and familiar as possible, both in terms of facilities and infrastructure.
Furthermore, the library can complement its facilities with the implementation of library information systems such as: its electronic collection, and also other activities such as involving visitors by holding events that attract them to the library, such as conducting seminars on current topics and many more.
And, the service of the human resources must also be considered.
The reason I put electronic collections and other activities as the second priority is because of the phenomenon that we observe today, especially in college libraries (because I work in a college library), often I find that students are able to complete their studies without the need to visit the physical library and even use the library collection.
They tend to explore and search for the reference sources they need through the internet.
All they need is a place that is comfortable in their own opinion, where they can study while relaxing, that's what they are looking for. So if the library does not innovate, I think it is very difficult to attract visitors to the library.
