Some institutions only consider the order in the correspondence to confirm the first correspondence author. Many institutions consider the last corresponding author in the author column to be the most important corresponding author. Is there any reference from some journals or institutions?

Peer review system allows only one corresponding author but in case of research being carried out by collaborating institutes, you may have two corresponding authors. In such a scenario, it is the first corresponding author that's usually considered for contact by peer-review publication. But, it again varies from journal to journal. I totally agree with Dr Prachi D. that there is a variation from one journal to another. This is sometimes clarified on their website. If not, I would contact them directly to ask. I would do this before preparing or sending a manuscript to be sure that the answers are satisfactory to me (and my group).
