Pallavi Deshmukh Almost certainly any metallic element added to molten Al will lower the surface tension (and the melting point as well).

Rare and/or rare earths elements (i.e. Sr, Ca or Mg), having low surface tension and relatively low temperature alone, after adding to the liquid aluminum/aluminium alloy reduce its surface tension
In general, rare and rare earths (MgCa, Sr, Na, K and other) modify the silicon eutectics (Al+Si) of silumines, while the transition elements (Ti, Zr, V, B etc.) and their compounds break up (refinement) the grain (DAS, SDAS) of a solid solution of aluminum.
Question: Will it be possible to achieve this grain size (80-85 micron) by adding Ca, Mg, Sr by reducing the surface tension?
Answer: NO !!!
Only transition elements: Ti, Zr, V and/or B.
Sir Mg Ca etc are alkaline earth metals , are you referring these as rare earth ?
