According to several articles I read, CZTS/CdS heterojunction can degrade if it is annealed at high temperatures due to Cd diffusion which leads to a decrease in the solar cells efficiency.
However this article 10.1002/pip.2837 reported the opposite ! so what do you think. This is very important for my experiments plan even for normal or inverted design of the cells. Thank you in advance for your answers.

Maybe there is a competition process between the Cd diffusion and the crystallization of both CZTS and CdS film. If so, different annealing conditions like time or temperature, heating rate and especially the holding time would lead to different results. If the latter is in the ascendant, then the improved Jsc may be observed.

Dear Mr Zhiqiang Yu. I well understand that annealing will improve the CZTS crystallinity therefore the cell efficiency, thus it should be done. The question is: does Cd diffusion lead to a decrease or an increase in the efficiency? the article 10.1002/pip.2837 reported that it is advantageous.
By the way I read somewhere that if the buffer layer is amorphous it would be better because there will not be the problem of grain boundaries. Is it logical?

I found may well be I was wrong about whether the effect of Cd diffusion on CZTS film is advantageous or disadvantageous according to the literature your recommend.

@Zhiqiang Yu actually I didn't recommend it, I just cited it to ask if it is right or wrong.
I also cannot remember which articles reported the disadvantage of CdS annealing at high temperature. But I kept some of them (attached ones) which I think they can be useful (one of them is a review article, it may not talk about CdS annealing effect but it contains great information).
I think one of the reasons of low efficiency of CZTS cells -with inverted design- which are annealed at high temperature is CdS diffusion & its layer deterioration. But I think a good investigation of this issue will be very useful.
Actually I worked in this CZTS project for 3 months. I will not work on it again so good luck for you if you want to investigate the temperature effect
