The rate costant in AOT is higher than CATC system. Why the rate of oxidation of iodide by hydrogen peroxide or the rate of formation of triiodie (I3-) in AOT (anionic surfactant) is higher than CTAC(cationic surfactant) inside reverse micelle system?
Pay attention to hydrophobic hydration. Hydrophilic positive groups under the influence of hydrophobic groups hydrophobize better than negative hydrophilic groups. This difference is due to the same orientation of water molecules to hydrophilic positive groups and hydrogen of hydrocarbons groups. For hydrophilic groups with a negative charge, the orientation of the water is opposite. Different effects on the structure, the density of water can lead to a different speed of your reaction.
