Because these adhesives have the same ingredients(content) like MMA and BA. But some adhesives use a pressure adhesive and some use paper coating? What is the basic difference?
In one sense you are right: there are several polymeric emulsion based adhesives (as well as paints etc.) consisting of similar monomers (and comonomers) but there is a world of difference in their behavior. The following parameters (among others) may be different: molecular weight, molecular weight distribution, composition, copolymer structure (statistical or block), polymerization method (catalyst, temperature, surfactant used), the pH of the emulsifying medium, other additives (as fillers, stabilizers, soluble polymers in the liquid phase), presence of non-aqueous components in the emulsifying medium. It is a science by itself, and books have been written on their formulation. I actually read one many years ago and even at that time it was complex enough, I am sure, it got even more complicated nowadays ... So you have to put a more specific question, so that you can find an expert to answer it. (I am NOT an expert in this field).
