What is the difference between XCMS and MetaXCMS? Can I use them for GCMS data?

I am going to profile the VOCs of bacteria by GCMS. I just want to know if I can use these software for metabolites profiling.

MetaXCMS is used to perform a second order analysis of results from several XCMS data sets

The Scripps site is very clear and useful

http://metlin.scripps.edu/metaxcms/

Though the full potential of XCMS is exploited with LC-(HR)MS data, you can of course use it on GC-MS data
