For my upcoming master dissertation work, working on Remote sensing and GIS in analysis of soil erosion. Got confused on USLE and RUSLE. Is there any difference between these two equations or both are same. Please help me.
The Universal Soil Loss Equation is an empirical basic equation.
RUSLE (Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation) model is only ones of many modifaction of USLE, especialy for more complex situations of rill and interrill erosion in conservation planning and land uses.
Both erosion-prone models calculate detachment capacity and soil loss.
RUSLE model predicts soil degradation and sediment concentrations better using another soil erodibility factor (F-soil factor, based on soil texture). Additionally, cover-management factor is diffrent. A new approach also is connected with conservation-practice values and slope length and steepness. These several improvements have been proposed in order to determine revised isoerodent maps.
USLE equation is not the perfect model, and therfore, modification is needed in the accuracy of annual runoff within the critical erosion classes.
The RUSLE uses the same formula as the USLE, but with improvements in the estimation of many Factors. RUSLE can take into account more complex combinations of tillage practices and cultivation practices as well as a wider variety of slope forms.
