I conducted X-ray diffraction (XRD) investigation on my chitosan sample and need assistance interpreting its diffractogram. If possible, could someone share the chitosan JCPDS card number with me? I failed to find a reference curve on Xpert HighScore to align with my experimental curve.

You will find a lot of chitosan XRD pattern *) as well as the JCPDS number.
For example the caption of Fig. 3 of

reveals # 039-1894 for Chitosan

I attempted to locate it through a search and match in the expert high score using the periodic table element selection(chemistry) technique. However, it was not found. Is this issue caused by a database problem? No reference curve was found for 039-1894 regarding Chitosan.

Dear Kristy Gourab Sinha You can simply search for the Compound Name "Chitosan" in your selected databases, no need to create complex chemical restrictions. When I do that using latest PDF5, I see two Chitosan XRD Patterns, card 00-039-1894 and card 00-067-1540. If these do not come up in your Search/Match that means that your pattern looks too different, for whatever reason. Often its for example caused by a too big Sample Displacement etc
