UGC CARE list is a list of journals approved by the the UGC, India for the purpose of calculating the API score, which is used as a tool to evaluate a person applying for teaching positions. Scopus is an indexing and abstracting service offered by Elsevier. It is generally considered that Scopus indexed journals are better than the UGC CARE listed journals. All Scopus indexed and WoS indexed journals are in UGC CARE list but the vice versa is not true.
