What is the difference between plated through hole (PTH) and non-plated through hole (NPTH) in pcb design? and is there any difference in results?

I want to use vias in microstrip filter circuit. What is the difference between plated through hole (PTH) and non-plated through hole (NPTH) in pcb design? and is there any difference in the results, if i use PTH or NPTH?

Hi, from the standard PCB point of view and non-plated through hole is simply a non conducting hole in the PC board. A plated through hole is a hole that has been plated and connects the top layer of the board with the bottom layer (or intermediate layers). As far as I am aware vias, are always plated through!
