I would to know exactly the difference between jpg and jpeg file extension. and also if you have any tutorial about jpeg compression? I need a detailed one with examples.

I think they are same format.
.jpg was mostly used because it was historically compatible to the DOS '8.3' filename convention.
A very good research with the jpeg file format is to play with the source code of the jpeg image encoder and decoder:
