Einstein-Aether theory is a Lorentz violating gravity theory which couples a vector field (the aether) to the Einstein-Hilbert action, breaking boost invariance by defining (locally) a preferred frame. This theory was proposed several years ago and is considered a good scenario for providing predictions to be confronted with observations. But what is its current status? Is it sill a good candidate for a theory of gravity? Is this theory well-posed?
