Many preparated teeth can be prevented from hypersensivity or pain if you seal the preparated teeth with a dentin adhesive immediately after the preparation. Especially the cervical parts of the preparation are often very nearby the pulp. So it is exposed to different noxes until it is finally covered.

I don't know the literature by heart but I think that ROLAND FRANKENBERGER (is on RG) did some research in this case.

The pain immediately after treatment of caries is due partly to the higher tension in cavum pulpae post anaesthesiae, eching and massive cut of dentinal tubulae nerv extentions. Sometimes the pain could result from the uneven occlusal relief. The reversible irritation is expected to disappearwithin 48 hours. If the discomfort and pain persists further espeially during the night the patiet has to be referred to endodontic treatment observation. the final decision is made after revision of the analyse of the depth, choice of material, proper base isolation and quality of the filling. Someimes the revision of the filling prevents from endodontic treatment. If the night spontaneous pain persist, everything else ok - dvitalization under anaesthesia is recommended.

ABSTRACT

There is a range of diseases that make the patients go to the dental emergency service; most of them result from pulp disorders due to the painful symptoms that characterize them. The objective of this paper was to describe the behavior of pulp diseases in patients from the health area of "27 de Noviembre2dental clinic in the period of October 2008 through December 2009. To this end, a cross-sectional analytical study was conducted in 173 adult patients aged 19 to 59 years and diagnosed as having any of the acute pulp diseases, Out of the total number of diagnosed cases, 81 (46.8 %) had irreversible acute pulpitis, 34.7 % suffered transient pulpitis and 18.5 % presented pulp hyperemia. The most affected teeth were molars and the type of pulp lesion did not depend either on the dental group or on the causative factor, being the dental caries highly predominant, since it accounted for 65.9 %. Pain, in terms of type and intensity, depends on the type of pulp lesion according to Pearson's statistic X2 results achieved in the study. Spontaneous pain, which was not mild in any case, was just present in patients with irreversible acute pulpitis.

was charged with the identification and definition of

all diagnostic terms for pulpal health and disease states

by using a systematic review of the literature. Methods:

Eight databases were searched, and numerous widely

recognized endodontic texts were consulted. For each

reference the level of evidence was determined, and

the findings were summarized by members of the

subcommittee. Highest levels of evidence were always

included when available. Areas of inquiry included

quantification of pulpal pain, the designation of conditions

that can be identified in the dental pulp, diagnostic

terms that can best represent pulpal health and disease,

and metrics used to arrive at such designations. Results

and Conclusions: On the basis of the findings of this

inquiry, specific diagnostic terms for pulpal health and

disease are suggested. In addition, numerous areas for
