There is a settled system for the promotion process in EGYPT:-
A comity includes 10 Known Professors on the area of specialization they do the management regulations which include:-
Receive the publications of the person needs the promotion (8 Papers),
They send the papers to 3 referees on the area from different 3 universities :
The comity takes the average of the three referees and transfer it to points to succeed on the publications you need (42/70)
The faculty of the person writes a report which covers 20 you need at least 10
The comity makes an interview for the person, he should present a power point talks about the new trends on his area of specialization and gives him a grade covers 10 you need at least 5
to promote from assistant Prof. to associate prof. you need 60% and one paper should have good grade
to promote form associate Prof. to professor you need 70% ant two papers should have a grade good
