What is the criteria for choosing abrasive particles with respect to finishing workpiece in magnetorheological finishing process?

I want to know on what basis a suitable abrasive is chosen in Magneto Rheological Finishing process. For example, if One wants to polish metal surface what type of abrasive is used? For finishing glasses what type of abrasive is used?

OR whether is it necessary to choose particular abrasive depending on the workpiece?

The choice of abrasive particles depends on several parameters: 1- The type of material to be abrased and 2- the amount of surface roughness you want to reach. Aluminum oxide or titanium oxide as well as the size and amount of abrasive particles affect the process
