Our Thermo Scientific Trace Ultra GC liner for the PVT injector has been removed and we are struggling to determine the orientation of the liner seal from the instrument manual.
We tried both face up and face down, but couldn't establish a good seal. Any help would be greatly appreciated to determine if the seal should be face up or down to assist our troubleshooting of the instrument.
I'm attaching a schematic with the seal, labeled number 6, and photo of the liner seals face down (left) and face up (right).

First you may want to tighten part #5 in your diagram a little more. If that does not work, you may have a miss match between the OD of your liner and the ID of your seal. You could try a different liner or a seal from a different lot.
Thank you both, after checking the seal and tightening the liner cap a bit more we have a good seal again and no baseline noise.
