Is there any argumentation that suggests that spatial reasoning is different from (and is not included in) geometric reasoning?

Does anyone have the text in which an explanation is offered to distinguish between geometric thinking and the development of pupil spatial abilities?

An entirely natural question arises: Geometric objects are abstract and significantly different from real objects. Students' adaptability in space (ie their spatial abilities) is the result of students 'interactions and realities, while the development of the geometric thinking is the result of students' tendency for understand, accept, and use abstract geometric objects.
