There are many small mathematical societies that publish their own texts in the domain of research in mathematical education at the domestic / local language. This creates a basis for the next generation of researchers achieving sufficient critical mass of quality research, begin to publish their research in English and in international journals.
I hope that I'll, together with some colleagues outside of B & H, at the beginning of the following calendar year, publish the text of Research in mathematics education by authors in the Republic of Srpska (one of the entities in B & H) through pared insight into the production of articles in this scientific domain.
Of course, the authors of the Republic of Srpska usually are not able to publish their research articles in scientific journals on the lists of Thomson Institute citation or Scopus. They are generally publish their own texts in the local journals.
Scientific Society of Mathematicians Banja Luka launched in 2009 the magazine IMO - istraživanje matematičkog obrazovanja (Research in Mathematics Education), ISSN 2303-4890 (print), ISSN 1986-518X (online), which accepts for publication articles on Serbian / Croatian /.Bosnian / English languages. So far was published 15 issues of this journal with 67 articles.
In addition, the Scientific Society of Mathematicians Banja Luka, through IMVI in cooperation with the State University of New York, Potsdam, USA edited and published scientific journal IMVI Open Mathematical Education Notes, ISSN (p) 2303-4882, ISSN (o) 1840-4383. So far was published 26 articles in 6 volumes (8 issues).
Summary.
Although DM BL little academic society, it still has notable publishing activities. It would be very useful to construct some parameters that would measure success in small academic community in Research in mathematics education like this.
