Actually KOH was used for synthesis of BFO nano particles by hydro-thermal methods, where as co-precipitation method there is no report on this, best of my knowledge so i want to to use KOH in co precipitation method, please suggest me.
For the synthesis of nanoparticles use ammonium hydroxide. It is a weak electrolyte. His molecules and ions have in solution. It contributes to better stabilize the nanoparticles. He is the "soft" precipitator hydroxides of bismuth and iron. KOH is a strong electrolyte. He completely dissociates into ions and stabilize the nanoparticles worse.
Yuri is right, why would you choose such a strong electrolyte for the purpose at all, do some explaining on the idea and enlighten us, please?! What are the perceived difficulties that led or would lead you to choose KOH instead of commonly used Ammonium Hydroxide!?
