Suppose, I have got the radar target(with interference) angle-Doppler image from STAP. After that I would like to remove the white noise from the image which will probably remove the zero pixels. Is it a correct way to get the variance of self-generated random white Gaussian noise and use it as a threshold parameter to denoise the radar image?

What is the optimum region growing (RG) algorithm to separate the target and interference blocks? Is it correct if I use conventional 4-connectivity(8-connectivity) to connect the pixels? Would you please recommend me an optimal RG algorithm for radar target image?

Thanks.
