Long time ago I read in a book that somebody asked what is good and what is bad. The typical human approach is: bad thing is if the neighbour steals my cow, good thing is if I steal the neighbour’s cow.

Many people would like to get the cow and the wife (results, ideas, performance etc.) of the neighbour and in spite of that to be respected by others. Of course, they say the opposite in the “marketplaces of life”. Interestingly, many successful people do things like that.

Now, how to become successful in life and education?

Regular sleeping and having an organized plan in your life, will bring you to your goals.

This is a delicate question because those that will respond must somehow admit they had success?

What is defined as success by some might be called as failure by others, and vice versa?

I agree that regular sleeping is important. Many people do not sleep enough.

At my end, the best way towards success  in education or in life as a whole is to combine determination to what  a person want to be, hard work towards  what he envisions   and prayers.

Success in life is a process and it also depends on how you see the world and what you want to accomplish in life.

Sucess in your studies is a lot easier because it is a predictable goal. You know what is expected from you. One needs to set realistic goals and be strict about it. At every course, stage, new goals shall be established. Education may also  be a endless process, but with finite stages.

A key word for success is to be attached to the basics. Life is not complicated at all. If you stop a little and notice you are able to speak, create discourse, that you can walk without thinking, write, speak foreign language, that because of your existence many people can live better off, that you have people who loves you and that you also love  them. What else comes next is just one more detail.

It is easy to be happy and recognize you reached a successful life. And why not answering your question yourself so that we may learn from you too how to be sucessul ourselves too.

1. To become successful means to make a career and become a boss with a lot of money or this means people  who “ love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called 'Rabbi' by others.”

2. To become really successful signifies working and creating beautiful and useful things for the welfare of people that is to follow the will of God.

For education, "Strong determination and hard work" !!!!! In my point of view, whatever may be your goal, these two factors are the most crucial parameters to achieve success.

For me, over the course of time seccess has had many meanings. For example, at 16 success was getting the ... out of my fathers house. Through my 20's it was materialistic accumulation and sex. After marriage being a father of a boy (sorry all) but the thought of a girl... 

Looking back success had two meanings for me, First how it would make me feel, and second how it would make me look. In a way, for me, achieving my goals was a selfish act, hurting others along the way, in order to fill an emptyness inside of me. Success was medicating, numbing effect, and at the sametime looking  good to others, Success had the effect disconnecting me from me if that makes anysense.

Your question concerns the best way to achieve success is to first understand that success is not "out there" somewhere. For  me seccess starts and ends in two places.

1) I am alone at night, nobody around and you can sit with no television, radio, computer, cell phone, pet, and be totially satisified with me and self  in quiteness just reading a book for no reason thats success for me.

2)  Personal evalution of successfulness for me is in the bathroom, it is located in the reflection of the mirror each and everytime I look and the reflection. If I love that reflection and like the that reflection I am successful.

Ehsan you ask how and the best way to to achive success is dependant on what you define it to be. For me and my definition I can't say it is fleeting, it comes and goes but as I get older the time distance between at and gone continues to become shortend. I can articulate one constant however, it has something to with giving.

Not giving in the sense of selectiveity as I will to X but not Y nor in the sense of monitarly or materiality. I can't articulate it but it has something to do with presence and time that I am sure of.

Success is purely a personal experience . For a researcher , publishing a paper in a peer reviewed journal is a matter of personal pride .   Every individual has his own view on the meaning of success . My suggestion is that you do a SWOT ( Strength , Weakness , Opportunities , Threats ) analysis of your future plans . Every individual is endowed with unique talents & you do not have to imitate your peers . You can have role models to guide you , but you should be clear about your own goals & views on success .
