As far as I know, the most common use case in the healthcare industry is medical imaging. So I would suggest starting off with below steps,

Step 1. Get familiar with Python or R

Step 2. Follow a relevant course at https://www.edx.org/search. Select the course based on your domain. (NLP, Computer Vision etc)

Step 3. Download the medical dataset from Kaggle(https://www.kaggle.com/) and start practising

I'm not an expert but the above steps worked for me hope it would work for you as well.

I would suggest you first get used to at least one programming language that would help you with Machine Learning like Python or R.

Once completed, I guess one of the most important aspects of medicine comes from image classification or image identification because of which Image Processing becomes important.

You can then start off with a proper course on Machine Learning from any sources online, there are some great resources available like Coursera or Edx.

Once you get familiarized with the domain, you can start off by participating in some competitions organized by Kaggle or practice some hands-on on datasets like those mentioned by Indrajith Ekanayake.

Finally, you can publish some research articles in some leading journals on Medical AI.

Hi Dr Ahmad, in my perspective you should start with Google Keras as I think you are from medical field and not much aware of mathematics involved. For training and modelling purposes Google Keras is best as there are inbuilt functionality. You can check 'Sentdex' YouTube channel. Also he write a book "Neural network from scratch". Please check this out. It will surely help.
