What is the best way to introduce yourself in an interview, if your current position is not relevant to the proposed research field ? What are the best options?
In general, when introducing myself in panels or presentations, I tend to focus on my past achievements and experiences that are relevant to the research field. I think in light of the fact that research is becoming an increasingly interdisciplinary endeavor, I think that your current title doesn't necessarily mean as much as the experiences you bring to the table.
The question is not quite clear. you wrote '.... if your current position is not relevant to the proposed research field ....' Are you asking for the best way to introduce yourself in front of a panel for a research job interview?
