The teacher should communicate clearly or state out the learning objectives to the student in clear and precise terms, outline to students what is expected of them to learn as the lesson goes on and after the lesson as well. By so doing, the students will be attentive in the class and this will help them to stay attentive as well as monitor their understanding of the lesson. Again, the teacher can decide to ask them questions to answer it in their own words before the commencement of the lesson and inform the students that the same set of questions will be answered after the lesson. By doing that, they will be attentive while the lesson is on because they have a task to do after the lesson ends. The teacher can also provide feedback to students on a regular basis, this will show the student that the teacher is investing time on them. This makes to stay focused. Teacher should show true willingness towards the teaching of the subject matter. This make the student excited and stay focused.
