Hello, I'm working with a tubular reactor of stainless steel (d= 11 mm) and I'm having problems cleaning it. I usually clean it brushing it, then inject jets of acetone, and then brush it with more acetone. When I try to use the reactor at 700°C, the carbon reacts, this just screws my actual results. I would like to have some suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Can't you just heat reactor in presence of normal air and burn everything? We use muffle furnace to clean some of the dirtiest stuff in our lab.

I agree with Dmitrii Pikhurov try to heat the reactor to a temperature between 500 - 600 C to get rid of the carbon traces.
with my advice to put a scrubber on the outlet line to absorb the polluted released gases
