Hi,

I want to distribute a survey to some undergrads. The survey is quite long and I'm toying with the idea of including a shorter version of the Raven's test. I know that the original test is always preferred to shorter versions when it comes to accuracy. However, I will have other measures of cognitive skills so I should be fine with a shorter version of the Raven's test for the purpose of my research.

So far I found 2 shorter versions of the Raven's test. There is a 12-item short version by Arthur Jr, W., & Day, D. V. (1994), and another 9-item short form by Bors, D. A., & Stokes, T. L. (1998).

I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the two short-forms above are any good or if there is a commonly accepted short version of the test.

Thanks for your help.
