Are there any references stating clearly the limitations (especially lower limit) of the spatial resolution of paleomagnetic data when used for paleogeographic reconstructions? i.e., how many hundreds/thousand of km is the lower limit at which one may confidently solve paleogeographic problems? I was recently told that 500 km (in a N-S axis) is still too small a distance to be resolvable by paleomagnetic data. Any reference backing this up?
Thanks for your help!
