When u say platform, do you mean software? If yes, i recently tried using Minitab version 16 for cluster analysis and dendograms as against SPSS 18 which i have been trying to use for a long while but unable to figure out and Minitab seemed considerably easier and more flexible.

I find STATA 11/12 more flexible and user friendly. If you have problems there are help files that will guide you on your specific needs. Just type the command help cluster and STATA will provide with TIPS /help files on what needs to be done.
