We can have admittance or impedance super imposed with reflection coefficient on the Smith chart. Therefore, S11  and S22 can be plotted on Smith chart for calculating the impedance or admittance of input and output ports of two port network.

Please follow these steps:

1. Convert the S11 (dB) into S11 numerical value (should have real and imaginary part)  (keep all this data in MS-excel sheet)

2. Plot the data as usual (x-axis: Real part of data; y-axis:Imaginary part of data)

3. Move the chart into separate sheet.

4. In the plot area editing, load the smith chart as background file (Be careful that smith chart is taken from matlab or some genuine programs. From google you can search matlab program to plot smith chart and store the chart as .jpg format)

Note: Once the chart is loaded from the background (as we do it in the ms-word), do not edit the chart or image. In other words you can edit the plot before loading the background image (i.e., smith chart) to avoid scaling or mismatch problems.

You can use MATLAB software.
