My colleagues and I successfully applied microsatellites to evaluate outcrossing, and potential parents in avocado groves in Florida and California. And developed additional microsatellite markers to generate linkage maps.

In addition, my colleagues at the USDA in Miami have developed thousands of SNP markers for avocado from ESTs.
