If there is few evidence of Quaternary deformation but there are evidences of faulting by means of fault gouge can we say something about latest faulting along that fault using fault gouge?
If so then how and what is the best method to date the fault gouge except ESR dating?

Dear Sambit,
You can go with TL dating as suggested by Rajendran Sir. But you need to be careful while using TL because sometimes the movement along the fault is too slow to reset the TL signals.

of terraces that may be uplifted by the fault, you are in good shape. The other problem you will have if you date fault gouge is of saturation. If your deformation signal is too old then you basically cannot date the deformation. We have had dates as old as 105 ka though we suspected that the signal is not fully reset. It is good as an upper bound.
