I want to apply paste/solution of pine sap on a surface,for that I have planned three methods. What would be the ideal for that
1) Melt it and prepare liquid form?
2)Increase plasticity by adding plasticizer, For this I need to know a good plasticizer
3) Dissolve in a solvent where after applied solvent will be evaporated,only resin will remain on surface? I need to know solvent
To add to Arunprakash's good answer, due to these terpenes being very hydrophobic you may need to use a hydrophobic solvent like Toluene or n-Octane, whereas ethanol or poly(ethylene glycol) may not dissolve your pine sap.

In my view the third method would be better. Since the resins never obey proper heating and cooling phenomenons. Better disolve with any solvent like ethonal, peg, acetone etc... and apply on the surface then heat.
