I need your opinion, because I would like to demonstrate the translocation of microbes out of the gut to the lymphatic nodes (autopcy) of the people died of pneumony associated with AIDS. Except of the PCR we have already used usual plating, and we would like to get a picture with FITC - antibodies. Does anybody do such things? Can you advice me the best methods for the preparation of the slides for the pathogenes binding?
Dear, you can use lymph node biopsy. PCR of specimens taken from the ulcer is now the most sensitive diagnostic method. A well as histological examination among lymph node biopsy paraffin-embedded sections by Ziehl-Neelsen and hematoxylin/eosin can still be useful even in HIV patients.
