The colour and longevity of natural dyes is a basic property of the molecules and it cannot be changed by chemical processing. You can however shield such coloured products from the incidence of light, particularly direct sunlight and avoid the use of any type bleach thus maintaining the colour. Given that we are talking of valuable perhaps rare artefacts I suggest a fully planned and executed product maintenance regime and carefully check the properties of any solvents you use.
