To get the structure factor, first the intensity is corrected from polarization absorption and background and compton scattering then it is normalized. There are many methods for this like high-angle method and Krogh-Moe method. What is the best method and how to do it?

May be you have an excess of zinc in your alloy, segregation can occurs and you find another phase of pure zinc in your material. please, try to verify if you have the exact atomic ratio for your alloy before doing retvield.
I need help "big time" with a similar paradigm "normalization of corrected intensity". My challenge is with a GaAs (004) symmetric reflection and figuring out how to normalize the intensities at various 2D pixels in order to compare them with each other and with the "theoretical Bragg profile". We are normalizing the Bragg profile (Rocking Curve Profile - RCP) w.r.t. the total area under each RCP for each individual spatial pixel on the 2D XRD Image. Would this be correct?

I know another person who is well versed with X-ray and neutron diffraction technique for studying amorphous and glassy materials. He is Prof. Phil Salmon for the University of Bath, UK. He has written a review article recently with H.E. Fischer and Adrian Barnes (another two specialist in this field) in most probably Rep. Progress in Phys. I shall send the correct reference once I am in my office at ILL. It is a pity that these guys are not in Research Gate.
