In the distribution grids, where there are seasonal loads installed, in the half of the year the installed transformers and equipment have almost no use (very low). What is the base method for distribution grid design in order to have those equipments still used and working for the other parts of the grid in the periods with low load factors? Are the smart distribution grids, or local generation capabale of giving a solution for having the maximum use of the distribution grid equipment for all seasons?
I know the classical way is to manually exchange the high capacity transformers with smaler ones, in other words manual rearrangement of distribution grid equipment multiple times in a year. But Do new methods exist using smart generation/distribution grids?
