The popular material is rubber and polyurethane. Rubber is "too soft" without proper stiffness and polyurethane is subject to hydrolysis and can't withstand higher temperature. Are there more advanced material suitable for water lubricated bearing?

have you considered using PTFE?
it has high wear resistance, low COF and ability to operate in a wide range of temperatures if used with proper reinforcements.
I recommend using PTFE if the temperature doesn't exceed 250C
