Top of the Line Corrosion is now considered as a major concern for pipeline integrity and is taken into account in the design of any new gas field development.TLC is predominantly a problem of protection in the gas phase. The main parameters influencing TLC are the temperature of the fluid, the CO2 and H2S partial pressures, the concentration of organic acids, the gas velocity and the condensation rate.
Utilizing corrosion inhibitors that also known as Vapor Phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VPCI), is currently the most common method of corrosion protection. The goal of my question is to find the best method to evaluate a wide variety of Top of the Line Corrosion Inhibitors in order to choose the best candidate which is effective in acidic environment.

Actually, this article emphasizes on electrochemical investigation on the top of the line corrosion inhibitors, while I am looking for a standard test method for evaluation of TOL corrosion inhibitors under pressure, temperature and natural gas, which is very close to real conditions in pipelines. To my knowledge there are no standard methods for evaluation of TLC inhibitors. However, the experimental set given in the article below can be evaluated for the study. In this loop test modification would be required if the tests are to be conducted at high pressure and variable flow rates though not to the extent of close to normal operation.
If the objective is to compare the efficiency of different inhibitors the same can be determined at lower pressures in laboratory or connecting the test loop to actual gas line (by pass). Corrosion efficiency in such cases can be determined by both electrochemical or weight loss methods.
