I have previously used Santa Cruz sc-8066 DCX antibody, which has been discontinued, and need a replacement for it. I will be staining rodent brain tissue with it.
Doublecortin (C-18) has been discontinued and replaced by Doublecortin (E-6): sc-271390. This new monoclonal antibody is more specific, provides a stronger signal and eliminates lot to lot variation characteristic of most, if not all, polyclonal antibodies.
This other from Abcam (Anti-Doublecortin antibody (ab18723) is quite good, although expensive as well.
Santa Cruz itself noted on its webpage for sc-8066 DCX antibody that its production has been discontinued, and suggested to use Doublecortin (E-6): sc-271390. Check the details here:
Also, if you insist or comfortable to use Santa Cruz IHC antibodies, they suggest a list of these E-6 antibodies for specific uses, check and see which suits your purpose better:
Wulaer Bolati , Do you have to do antigen retrieval to get the staining you showed. We tried it without antigen retrieval and staining is very weak. What dilution did you use? Thank you so much!
Elliot Glotfelty , awesome images. Yes, we have this Guinea Pig one and it works really well but very expensive. We are trying to find an alternative one. Thanks for your answer!
Amanda Kalliopi Emma Hornsby Hey, I translated the protocol into English for you, check the protocol in the attached file. Don't hesitate to ask me any question.
