Use water soluble catalyst (eg J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2006, 128 (11), pp 3508–3509, or other water soluble versions) and remove it after reaction using extractive workup.

With "Grubbs 2", a plug of silica gel may be necessary, but frequently you can carry over the product after extraction to the next step.

Of course, the question remains how to accomplish the specific task effectively, and these days that leaves us frequently with either water-soluble catalysts or a Si-gel plug... Oxidizing with H2O2 can be feasible in rare cases only (Knight, TL 2010).

you could follow our approaches (Green Chemistry 11/2012; 14(12):3264-3268). this type of cat. is commercially available from Strem (http://www.strem.com/catalog/v/44-0768/59/ruthenium_1414707-08-6) or directly from my company at larger scale. See also our current paper: ChemSusChem 11/2015; DOI:10.1002/cssc.201500784 about scavenger which can be applied with basicaly any Ru-catalyst.

 I tackle this issue by adding DMSO 100 times equivalent of grubbs catalyst. This has always worked for me. If you still get a light pink product solution after 1 run through silica gel column then run it once more... you will get more better results. Here is the link for that paper I referred.
