I would like to compare 3D simulation softwares to study the electromagnetic compatibility through an airplane when it is struck by lightning. I have searched the internet but I am not sure to know all existing FDTD solvers which could work properly with my kind of study.
Could you help me listing those softwares and summerizing their qualities and drawbacks?

Altair FEKO ( https://altairhyperworks.com/product/FEKO) can be used to study the effects of lightning. I attached a presentation: Overview of FEKO for Efficiently Solving EMC Problems with Numerical Simulations that includes a few slides about Lighting strike on Helicopter platform. Also i attached a brochure with the most important information about the software.
Feko is a comprehensive computational electromagnetics (CEM) software used widely in the telecommunications, automobile, aerospace and defense industries. I had looked for FEKO features before, nevertheless, FEKO recommends the use of their MLFMM solver method for lightning strike simulation on aircraft, which is a frequency solver made from the MoM solver method which I dismissed for my study because it only simulates the surface of the plane (while I aim to include 3D electromagnetic fields inside the structure to my simulation) and it is not a broadband simulation method (required to study lightning strike signals).
But I am still pretty interested by the FEKO FDTD solver for my study.
I was also interested by EMA3D which uses the FDTD simulation method, do you have any review about this software? It seems very accurate when induced effects on harness are studied thanks to the MHARNESS extension.
The CST software is also among my potential choices

CST has a good time domain solver to address this problem - as other time domain solutions it can address the time waveform of your strike as it is, unlike FEM/MoM which need Fourier transforms to and from both domains.
As for the negative points of using CST (or other time domain) Id say the simulation time might be too long (since the pulse is slow) and the mesh is not as good as other tools (e.g. FEM) for complex structures, like an aircraft fuselage.
What about electrical field and it's effects on insulators? As I know this software just focus on magnetic field and I can't find any issues about problem such as space-charges which caused by lightning strike
