I need to prepare a TEM sample for the discharged Mg battery cathode. I have a powered battery cathode. Could you please provide me the best solvent to dissolve the material, possibly that solvent will detach the binders and carbon materials to disperse the cathodes in the TEM grid? I am new to these types of materials hence looking for some detailed protocols.

If your sample is hydrophobic then use ethanol and ethanol is the best solvent to dissolve the powder type materials. Even you can use Aceton also but compare to acetone ethanol is best.
