I synthesis graphene (or carbon) quantum dots by a hydrothermal method. Synthetic QDs is blue-greenish fluorescent under UV light but disappear after one day Spontaneous without sedimentation. If I dry, then re-disperse, it hasn't fluorescence too. What's your suggestion for solving this problem?
No, I'm not sure. I only guess. but if it isn't GQDs, why fluorescence is disappears?
As Phan Lan mentioned there is possibility of some reaction. It mainly depend on the contents of your solution. You can simply confirm formation of GQD by UV spectroscopy. If you can observe any absorption at around 280 and 360 nm then you can say formation of GQD however it needs further evidence to confirm it like HRTEM. Once you confirm it then just measure it again after fluorescence quenching you may get some idea. There might be possibility that some chemicals are reacting with oxygen of GQD which hinder the fluorescence properties so you can try to change the ratio or weight of precursors you used for the synthesis it may help you to clarify the reason of this quenching.
