In my opinion real education is that education which gives the birth of a unsatisfiable hunger for life-long learning.
Real education is that which provides opportunities for gaining knowledge through love of life. Education should instruct the students to be truthful, moral, fearless, humble and merciful and should teach the students to practise right conduct, right thinking, right living, right action, self-sacrifice and attain knowledge of the Self. Any effort to impart education in bulk by a dry and impersonal process hurts the life force of human mind.

Since this question is available and since I´m following, I do not at all understand the sense of this formulation "real education".
Education is a big topic, and the answers are talking about different aspects of education. But what´s the meaning of "real"?
Would some one please help me with a definition or explanation?
Before I express my personal views on real education i wish to eliminate the initial word''REAL''in the greatest respectable areas of education .
In the present day materialistic world the areas has gone to madrace to place the head of education making the area ,corporate ,business & competition this is the challenge for every society of the world.I don't deny that there are standing status & respectable educational institutes.But what about others....
To me the area does not end merely in obtaining the degrees or professional education by way of donation at the discount of merit .
Real education besides the study aspect & right type of syllabus in the need of time for the various courses but we should not forget the basic need of human values as it gets reflected in the society under the social reform-educationalist to find the way & means to carry innovation -improvement & to find sources of discipline which should create in our present generation in moral code of conduct to make his life worthly & nobler.

Real education means which can have real impact - both virtually and practically, from both knowledge-wise, inter-personal relations, impact on science and society and overall improvement in all the sectors and population.
In my opinion,
Education is to get the information and skills and take advantage of the experiences in various spheres of life and all sorts of methods all this for a good future , generation conscious and a great civilization.
The true education is to learn how to respect others and how to communicate with them and be honest and gallant
Real education is to train pupils to think: to observe, measure, analyze and treat their own observations and results and those of the others.

In my humble opinion 'real education' is:
Inspiring to self motivate and explore for answers to questions -
then providing a framework/method of teaching/knowledge transfer for that inspiration to turn into learning for each individual to internalise what they previously did not know -
then ensuring that there is relevance of the framework in applying that learning to reinforce the validity of the framework -
for the framework to ensure that the learning is continuous and develops further inspiration.

Yes, the goal of education must not be "the process itself" - It must be the sum of knowledge (and skills) that enables ordinary (and happy) life (in general). I am afraid that it does not apply in today education.

I totally agree with Prof Ljubomir Jacic and Nageswara Rao Posinasetti. Furthermore, what I use to mentioned to my students when I transferred the knowledge from the real business and industrial world to the class (as I preferred to teach according to demand and practice beside theory) is when you have real situation a real problem to solved then you have only 3 data and/or assumptions to make: first is what have you been taught for so many years; second is what life has taught any one of you separate and the most important one is what you have not yet learned or taught
Something that is difficult to find in universities today. How can you find it when a senior professor in Canada bars women students from entering his class, or if they are there already, he awards them with inferior marks. Don't have time to think about real education!

i think there could be two tracks running concurrently starting from primary education.One will cover the subject knowledge exposure as per the designed system(primary,secondary,higher secondary,up to graduation,post graduation etc).The other track could simultaneously cover the soft skills/personality development so that by the end of the respective track,the matching growth happens to sustain as a responsible family member and citizen concurrently.
Education must be best calculated to promote plain living and high thinking. Each student must be taught that his first and foremost duty is to attain Self-realization and to cultivate universal brotherhood.
